Where Mountain Whisper to Tea Leaves

Welcome to the wild teas from the famous tea region of Wuyi Mountains of Fujian, China. In this virgin land tea trees are watered by crystalline rivers, carefully nurtured through the four seasons by a family of tea growers. Our teas are the starting point on a path into a different world, one of craftsmanship and passion for the wild.

Four Generations. One Mission

I grew up in a family with deep roots in the tea industry. Since childhood, the fresh tea leaves aroma was my earliest memory. Over time, however, I witnessed a painful shift: in the relentless pursuit of profit, chemical fertilizers and pesticides became widely used, compromising the purity of the soil and diminishing the very soul of the tea. Even more disheartening was the slow fading of the traditional tea culture passed down through generations—a culture of reverence for nature and devotion to craftsmanship.

Pìn Yĕ: Tea from a Living Mountain

In summer, when the whole country is hot, the mountains near Wuyishan are still cool. Far away from the heat, far away from the human world. When I arrived at DongkenJue, Wuyishan, I took a bumpy mountain path into a different sort of life, with lush, green mountains planted with tea trees.

People often say that a jungle is a sort of organism all of its own, self-regulating, regenerating. The insects that pollinate the plants, and the root systems of the trees purifying the soil, are all one single system; the soil is pure, the water is pure, and the mountain itself imparts a self-regulating purity. Pìn Yĕ’s hidden tea plantation here distils the flavor of these mountains.
